Spiritual Guidance

"Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them; but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." And he laid his hands on them and went on his way." (Matthew 19:13-15)

Jesus' greatest compassion was reserved for children, especially those who were in distress. Many of the children who come to us are in a real struggle for self. They don't really know who they should become. The bottom line of their identity crisis is that no one has adequately introduced them to God. They need to know that they have One who loves them unconditionally, who forgives freely, and who will carry them into a new and better life than the one they have known.

At KingsField, we believe one of our responsibilities is to introduce these children to Jesus as protector, deliverer, friend and savior.

The key to helping children know Jesus is for them to see Him in the lives of people they live with daily. Whether they are house parents, staff, maintenance, case managers or administration, every person is encouraged to make their primary responsibility - to live Christ before our children.

On campus we provide opportunities for spiritual growth through:

  • Family Devotionals in all Living Areas
  • Service Projects
  • Weekly Staff Devotionals

Our sponsor/mentoring program is designed to provide the children examples of positive relationships and how to maintain them, especially a healthy family life.

"As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem. You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice; your bodies shall flourish like the grass; and it shall be known that the hand of the LORD is with his servants" (Isaiah 66:13-14)
