What We Do

KingsField Children's Home provides residential care to boys and girls between the ages of six and twenty-one years. KingsField accepts children who are from troubled homes or who are experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulty.

KingsField Children's Home is a home for children with a variety of different backgrounds - each with their own unique needs. The staff trys to prepare each child for whatever phase in life he/she will enter next, whether this be reunification with the family, moving to a foster home, or preparing for independent living. We do this through a variety of programs and services and with the help of individuals like yourselves.

We are committed to our vision of developing the children emotionally, socially and spiritually as they prepare to reengage with their family or community. As you visit the various links in this web site, hopefully you will get a flavor of life at KingsField. We are a community of workers and supporters, pouring our efforts together to make life better for children who need to see that caring and love do exist in a world that has often been unfair and unjust.

The Children's Home is currently licensed to serve 24 children. The average length of stay is one year. Children are referred mainly by the Offices of Families and Children across the state of Indiana. Indiana probation offices also make referrals. The main source of funding comes from the per diem from these placements.

KingsField also receives money from various churches, businesses and private donations. Private placements are accepted as well. These can come from across the United States and usually originate from one of the sponsoring churches. A sliding scale fee is assessed to these clients.  KingsField provides Independent Living Classes to the older residents and teens in the community. These classes prepare youth to successfully face the challenges that arise in independent living.

Write or call us and let us know what you think about our web site or for more information of how you can be involved in transforming the life of a child. Funding for the care of the children is provided by the generosity of individuals, churches, businesses, foundations, and reimbursements by the Indiana Department of Child and Welfare Services for the services rendered to the children.
