Education

The Education Program serves all children in or on the campus of The Children's Home, as well as the direct child care staff and their families. The Education Program is responsible for meeting the following objectives:
  • To monitor each student's academic and behavioral progress in school.
  • To coordinate the team efforts of the Children's Home and the school as we all work to help children succeed.
  • To provide education enrichment classes and activities for all the students throughout the year, and particularly throughout the summer.
  • To provide fine arts experiences for all ages, including art, music, and drama.

KingsField has been operating an on-grounds school since 1996. It is open to all of the residents at KingsField, though not all are required to attend. The school helps children who have had difficulty in the public school system with behavioral or truancy issues. The school focuses on building relationship skills, teaching appropriate classroom behaviors and improving basic academic skills. Unless a student is working on a GED or other arrangements for education are necessary, the goal is always to prepare the child to reenter the public school system. The on-grounds school continues to grow and change according to the needs of the students.

  • Mentor one child.
  • Provide funds for the group's educational outings.
  • Volunteer to share your talents in a class for the children --- art, music, drama, cooking, scrapbooking, science experiences. We want to open the doors to a world of experiences for our children.
